Much has been said about the music at the Ghent Six: it’s dutch sing-along music, it’s too 80s, it’s too loud, too repetitive. So I dragged DJ Frans, the man behind the wheels of steel (ahem, plastic), out of his booth for an interview.
What’s your favorite song to play here at the Ghent Six?
Stampede. It’s the song I play for Jasper De Buyst [when he’s riding a flying lap].
Is there any song you’d like to play here, but you don’t, because it wouldn’t fit with the crowd or the organization?
Yeah, there’s lots of songs I love at home, but the organization wants dutch songs that you can sing along to.
Where else do you DJ?
Birthday parties, anniversaries, private events.
No, no clubs.
